a must if you visit New York City for the first time

I had this book to study for a couple of weeks before my first trip to NYC. It was invaluable. It gave information about how to get around on the subway, what to expect from a cab driver, information and ratings on many sites to visit, prices, hours of operation, phone numbers, and so much more. I took the book with me everywhere I went on the trip as a reference. The next city I visit, I will order a Frommer's book to plan the trip. It was a tremendous help.

My brother had 2 weeks to kill in NYC!!! Frommer became his best friend. Very foreign visitor friendly!

Frommer's NYC guide gave accurate, up to date info, but did not offer much insight or passion about the city.

This is the guide to get if you're planning a trip to NYC! I found it to be very useful - filled with pertinent information about things to see and do, complete with handy tips on various things like cab fares, tipping strategies, etc. It basically covers the entire NYC, not just the popular tourist spots, and it is easy to find places of interest [the index is also very comprehensive]. Best of all, for families with kids - this guide lets you get an idea of which points of interest are kid-friendly, and that's essential to me cos we have a preschooler! Conclusion - a great guide to NYC, filled with useful and relevant information.
